Youtube-dl will read the appropriate text file, and then in a queue start downloading them one by one. Then I have a text file for my different youtube-dl parameters, video, audio, etc. Then I create a text file, put all my links in there, different file for movies, adult, mp3s, etc. This is what I do, I can use youtube-dl on windows or linux, am dual booter, so either works.

JDownloader can even download photos the same way it does for videos. I can pause/resume, limit the bandwidth, and configure "chunks"/"threads" to optimize the process of writing to disk. Then, I can batch download it at any time (preferably when I don't require bandwidth anymore), and it will download it. This is incredibly efficient in terms of workflow-I only need to focus on adding videos until I'm satisfied (no need to switch focus to the application). What makes this great is I can copy as many links as I want (for example when I'm on Youtube and I want to download all related videos I come across) and JDownloader will accumulate a list of downloads for these videos. I am currently using JDownloader 2, which feels somewhat bloated and clunky with a Java GUI, but it is very useful-my usage is literally start the program > right-click a link and copy > JDownloader automatically adds the video from this link to the queue > then I start the download. I just moved to Linux and youtube-dl seems very popular because it's lightweight and scriptable. Just make sure to tag the post with the flair and give a little background info/context. On Fridays we'll allow posts that don't normally fit in the usual data-hoarding theme, including posts that would usually be removed by rule 4: “No memes or 'look at this '”
